Premium Live Webinar: Challenging the Hostile Environment Narrative for International Students - A Case Study on Global Gatherings

This event has been postponed. New date and time to be announced shortly.

What to Expect

In this 20-minute webinar, we delve into the transformative power of inclusive university-led initiatives, with a spotlight on the “Global Gatherings” programme spearheaded by my colleague, Kate Faulkner, at the University of Wolverhampton. These gatherings serve as a beacon of hope and solidarity, offering a vivid counter-narrative to the pervasive ‘hostile environment’ that international students often face. Through this initiative, we’ve cultivated a welcoming community that not only supports our international students but celebrates the rich diversity they bring to our academic and local communities.

Join us as we explore the tangible impacts of these gatherings, showcasing how they foster a sense of belonging, improve student experiences, and challenge the prevailing narratives that can deter the vibrant exchange of ideas and cultures which universities thrive on.
