Premium Live Webinar | Leading with Empathy: The Power of Compassionate Leadership

This webinar took place on Wednesday 7th August. Scroll down to watch the session back on demand.

What to Expect

Speaker: Nicola Marsden, Head of Student Recruitment and Access Development, Sheffield Hallam University

In practicing compassionate leadership, leaders and managers encourage open communication, actively listen to their team members, and respond to their needs with kindness, which fosters a positive and inclusive work environment where employees feel valued and heard. This approach not only enhances employee well-being and satisfaction but also drives higher levels of engagement, creativity, and productivity.

In this short session, we’ll explore the key components of compassionate leadership and Nicola Marsden will give you some of her personal insights and examples of how she has tried to embed this into her leadership roles and the impact this has had to see if there are practical things you may be able to implement into your leadership practice. As with any practice, there can be downsides, so we’ll touch a little on these and how to mitigate against them and set up both you, and your teams, for success.
